Where? There! Up, up, up in the air

Herman Van Rumpy, still hanging around, just a little higher up than on Friday.

An early start for International Dawn Chorus Day and a circuit of all the usual songsters at Uskmouth; nothing out of the ordinary but 5 Greenshank and decent numbers of Whimbrel and Bar-tailed Godwit were better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Afterwards, the falling tide at Uskmouth produced: 2 male Scaup, 1 first-summer Mediterranean Gull, 1 Brent Goose, 1 White Wagtail, about 10 each of Yellow Wagtail and Wheatear, 1 Spotted Redshank, a handful of Greenshank and Grey Plover, lots of Bar-tailed Godwit, Knot and Whimbrel and a Porpoise heading up-channel.

Then a quick look see at the Saltmarsh Grasslands. Barney and a few more Greenshank were more or less the sum of it until, whilst wandering down Boat Lane, the Red-rumped Swallow appeared overhead, showed for a few minutes, then headed off towards the pill.

And now,... sleeeeeeep.
